Athlete Spotlight

Keeli Coyle

About me:

I was born and raised in Claremore. I graduated from CHS in 2009, played softball at NEO, and graduated from NSU in 2013. I’ve been teaching math and coaching softball at the high school for the last 7 years and love it. I am married to Curtis Coyle and we are expecting our first human baby in February. We also have two dog babies, a husky named Kylo and a labraweenie named Bremmie.

How long have you been doing CrossFit:

I have been doing CrossFit for 3 years in March.

Favorite movement:

1RM: Snatch in any version

Cycle: jerk

Non-barbell: Wallballs

Least Favorite: pull-ups

Go to music:

any music that masks me breathing like a dragon

Hobbies: I enjoy any time spent with my family, anything outdoors, reading, cooking, eating, and a good amount of TV watching (sports, documentaries, Wheel of Fortune, and a decent amount of trash).

Next CrossFit Goal: Realistically, find a way to keep it up after having a baby. Before being pregnant, my goal was to string together more than 2-3 pull-ups at a time.

Favorite Coach:

  • Favorite if you want to warm-up for 47 minutes: Ray

  • Favorite if you want to lift extra (the answer is yes): Adam

  • Favorite if you want markerboard artwork: Jackson

  • Favorite if you want country music: JD

  • Favorite if you want the WOD written on every single surface: Kayleigh

  • Favorite if you want fancy terminology: Zoe

  • Favorite coach that also doubles as my WOD partner: Ang

One thing you don’t know:

I sang Wide Open Spaces by the Dixie Chicks in the fourth grade talent show. My performing career ended there except the time my dad made my siblings and I sing Silent Night acapella in front of the entire student body.

Favorite Athlete:

My brother, Hunter Garroutte and Taryne Mowatt (played softball at Arizona)
