Athlete Spotlight

Our Athlete Spotlight for the 4th quarter of 2019 is Tim Saltmarsh.  Tim followed his wife’s lead in starting his CrossFit journey and now is one of our most dedicated members!  We asked Tim to tell us a little bit about himself and this is what he told us…

CFPU:  Tell us a little about yourself… (career, family, etc.)

TIM:I am 34 years old.  I’m an inspector specialist for Triumph-Aerospace.  I have been married to my beautiful wife, Cherise, for 13 years and we have two wonderful children.  And I started CrossFit Parts Unknown after my wife enthusiastically jumped in head first earlier this year and encouraged me to join in.

CFPU:  How long have you been doing CrossFit?

TIM:7 months.

CFPU:  Favorite CrossFit Movement?

TIM:  “Power Cleans.”

CFPU:  Least Favorite?

TIM:  “Double Unders.”

CFPU:  Go-to pump up song or music?

TIM:  “Exit Eternity by Combichrist.    \m/    \m/

CFPU:  Things you enjoy outside the gym?

TIM:  Working on my home and adventures with my family.

CFPU:  Next CrossFit goal?

TIM:  It’s going to be double-unders or a muscle up.

CFPU:  Favorite Coach?

TIM:  Umm…I honestly don’t have a favorite.  Every coach at Parts Unknown is awesome.  That’s why I try to go everyday I can.

CFPU:  What is one thing we don’t know about you?

TIM:  I have never had a broken bone.

CFPU:  Favorite athlete, CrossFit or not?

TIM:  Andy Payne from Foyil, Oklahoma, Winner of the 1928 Trans-American Footrace. I love that guy’s story.  To quote Andy about why he entered the race is exactly how I feel about CrossFit, “I just thought I could do it.”
